The syllabus is part of the Master's Degree in International Cooperation of UPV.
The course uses real-life cases linked to various issues related to sustainable development to teach the students how to interact, cooperate and develop solution-oriented strategies.
To reach this goal, the Professor uses a very solidly structured system thinking approach based on the theories of the Cynefin framework (

The course makes ample use of various interactive activities such as meditation, LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY®, Creative Problem Solving, and Points of You®. The course also deals with the ethic dimension through empathy and behavior approach, fieldwork, and interaction with various communities through a participatory process.

Research fundamentals. Key concepts on research paradigms, theories, and methodologies. Ontological, epistemological, and methodological foundations. Design of an investigation. The investigation process.
Research in development processes with a systemic perspective. In this part of the course, students will be introduced to systemic research processes, both conceptually and through critical and participatory methodologies. Among the research techniques used, special emphasis will be placed on the use of quantitative research through the design of a survey, both one-dimensional and two-dimensional descriptive analysis, and the inference of the results.
