Description of the Course Material
“Systems Thinker's Toolbox: Tools for Managing Complexity” is a book written by Joseph Eli Kasser and edited by Taylor and Francis. It contains more than 100 tools dealing with system thinking. The tools are presented in a didactic manner providing a number of examples of how and when use them also combining the simplest into a more complex one. Two different views of systems thinking are illustrated; systemic and systematic thinking, that can be used also in a complimentary manner. The set of tools presented can be used to apply systems thinking to solving problems in project management, engineering, systems engineering, new product development, and business. New tools that were successfully tested and a set of communication tools for the project reviews and to communicate innovative ideas were discussed. It is basically a reference book in which a specific tool can be directly searched found and read.
