Summary
It is true that stories and storytelling play a crucial role in how people assign value to a place, and placemaking approaches aim to change the meaning and value of a place for local people by strategic interventions, thus creating a qualitative place for enhanced storytelling. Urban greenery is a common approach in placemaking, and it is now seen as having social and economic consequences for a city's fortunes in addition to ecological and biodiversity benefits. However, green spaces do not exist in isolation but are part of a complex urban system, and managing them requires social and organizational skills. The place-making and storytelling approach can provide valuable insights into planning and managing green spaces within the urban environment, enhancing the social connection between people and creating qualitative, usable spaces for citizens that are built upon stories and enable future stories of citizen life. Therefore, it is important for green space managers to develop the necessary skills to manage modern urban green spaces effectively.
Relevance for Complex Systems Knowledge
The authors discuss the crucial value of considering a city's overall green spaces as a complex system that contributes to shaping spatial planning. Furthermore, the urban green system is an element of the city's complex system, and the design of every green area affects the citizens' quality of life.

Point of Strength
The authors report some examples of the requalification of public green spaces using storytelling and placemaking approaches. This paper helps to understand the value of qualitative methods to integrate quantitative results and design public spaces that provide communities' needs. This consideration may translate into educational contexts through project-oriented courses and programs. Storytelling can be a formidable tool for transferring the basic concepts of complex systems theory.
