Summary
Ken Robinson’s formula for transforming schools does not deal with reform but with rethinking education and higher education. The author advocates a revolution: the overturn of cultural concepts that are generally taken for granted, in order to rethink scholastic itineraries from nursery school through university, abandoning the principles of conformity, linear thinking and standardization to choose a personalized form of learning that is based on creativity and innovation.
Relevance for Complex Systems Knowledge
Quoting from an author who was a living example of the interdisciplinary link between science and literature, H.G. Wells, Robinson tell us that “civilization is in a race between education and catastrophe”, adding that the key to understanding the necessary transformation of education, is to consider that although education today is a global topic, the process must start locally, from the bottom up.
Point of Strength
